Style Series: 1 T-shirt, 6+ Ways
Happy #fashionFriday! ๐
Today, we are taking a basic T-shirt and styling it in some not-so-basic ways. I LOVE getting multiple looks out of a single piece - it must be the sensible Asian doctor mom in me.
The T-shirt is from by DayDreamer at Anthropologie.
1. Classic - with denim (DL 1961) and flats (Chanel from TheRealReal)
2. Work - add a blazer and heels (Enrico Cuini)
3. Casual - add a fun jacket and chunky heels (Gianvito Rossi)
4. Edgy - with a leather jacket (Muubaa), denim skirt (GAP), and boots (Valentino)
5. Funky - play with layers and leather shorts (from a consignment shop and tailored!)
6. Chic - with a silk skirt (LOFT), add a denim jacket (GAP) and fun heels (Enrico Cuini) to spice things up!
Which matches your style most???
Live Colorfully
Happy #fashionFriday! What could your favorite color say about you? ๐
BLACK is ambitious but also sensitive. It's a color of strength, power, and authority. Perfect for an important interview.
RED is bold. You are outgoing and don't mind being the center of attention. Try this color at your next formal soiree.
PINK is energetic and fun. It is seen as youthful and happy. No wonder my daughter loves it. ๐
YELLOW is cheery and bright - you are positive and inspirational. Fun for a get together with friends.
ORANGE draws people in and makes a statement. You are likely social, outgoing, and love entertaining. Good for an outdoor party.
GREEN is calm, kind, and caring. Green is a color of nature, as well as money - so people are drawn to you. Perfect color for scrubs, wouldn't you say?
WHITE is positive and courageous. The color is simple, fresh, and new. Great for a weekend activity.
BLUE is calm and relaxed. You are positive, independent, and clever. Great for photos or speaking engagement.
GRAY is balanced and mature. You like to lay low. Great alternative to black for a meeting or interview where you want to be seen as a team player.
PURPLE is historically a regal color. It demands respect and attention. You are deep and artistic. Perfect for a gala or show.
BROWN is reliable, authentic, and grounded. It is the color of the earth and exudes stability. Good for dinner with the in-laws.
Whatโs your favorite color? Mine is blue but black is my go-to for any outfit. (I wonder what that says about meโฆ)

I Love Bags!
I love bags! ๐คฃ Let me count the ways:
1. They elevate an outfit - You could be wearing a casual t-shirt and jeans or a simple sundress, but grab a cute bag and immediately the look is elevated. It's a simple and easy way to look put together when you don't necessarily want to put in the effort.
2. They have great cost-per-wear (CPW) - Take a $1000 bag. If you carry it every day for 1 year (which many people do), the cost comes out to less than $3 a day - less than my daily Starbucks. โ๏ธ
3. You can find them second hand - Trends and styles come and go, and many bag lovers will update their closets a few times a year and sell old pieces. I take advantage of this and often will get my bags second hand through resellers or consignment shops, giving me a designer piece without the designer price. (I love TheRealReal for online consignment, and you can rent cute ones at RenttheRunway.)
4. They can be a good overall investment - Some brands go up in price on the resale market, which is a great perk. True story: a Chanel bag I bought 10 years ago, I could sell today for almost twice the purchase price. Not too shabby!
5. Life is short, buy the bag! - My tagline is not #liveVICTORIOUS for nothing. ๐ To all of you who are reading this - you work hard, you do so much, and you deserve to look and feel your best. And if an amazing bag helps you get there, then so be it.
What are some of your favorite bags? (p.s. I have 2 other versions of this video - with more bags! Check them out on my TikTok! - part 1 and part 3.)

How I Control โMASKNEโ
(read to the bottom for a GIVEAWAY!)
Did you know that June is acne awareness month? With masks becoming universal, you might be more fondly calling it "MASKNE." ๐ท This occurs because of the heat, sweat, and bacteria getting trapped underneath your mask, in addition to irritation and rubbing on the skin.
Ways to reduce your "maskne":
- Wash your face before donning your mask ๐ง๐ผโโ๏ธ and avoid make-up underneath - this will reduce the oil, sweat, and bacteria buildup
- Use a good moisturizer - especially in the areas that the mask rubs
- Only wear clean masks - do not reuse dirty disposable ones and make sure you wash your reusable ones regularly, ideally with fragrance free detergent. Natural materials like cotton breathe best.
- Avoid harsh products (like retinol or benzoyl peroxide) - this might make any irritation worse, so proceed with caution
One of my favorite ways to combat maskne and breakouts (from quarantine snacking ๐), has been using Rodan+Fields UNBLEMISH Clarifying Mask every few nights. A 2020 New Beauty award winner, this luxurious sulfur mask has been clinically shown to reduce excess oil, calm skin, decongest pores, and reduce blemishes over time. I am giving away a tub of this amazing mask as well as the cutest (and sold out) Alice+Olivia mask.

Style Series - 1 Black Dress, Multiple Ways
I have to admit, I have been living in dresses for the majority of this shelter in place. #pantsoptionalpandemic ๐ My go to has been a simple black sheath dress I got eons ago from J.Crew. I love it for the myriad of ways it can be worn:
- relaxed alone or with a slouchy cardigan
- for work with a belt, blazer, and heels
- casual chic with a sweater and boots
Itโs shelter in place, but make it fashion! ๐

Style Series - Make It Work
Apparently yesterday was National Pink Day! Who knew? ๐
Did anyone else watch the original "Project Runway" and remember Tim Gunn's "Make it work!"?
This totally spoke to me. My entire life and career thus far has been about "making it work" - getting into medical school, choosing a specialty, matching, becoming a mother, starting a side business, and figuring out how to juggle it ALL... (Itโs still all a work in progress ๐ )
So not surprising, I often apply this sentiment to my own clothing - Not thrilled at how something looks or want to change it up a bit? Tailor it, belt it, tuck it in, put it down, flip it and reverse it... ๐
